•  Honors courses and AP courses on a transcript are important, but not at the
                        cost of the student’s grade point average.
                     •  SAT and ACT scores are more important than most colleges are willing to
                        admit. However, rigor of curriculum and success in those courses remains the
                        leading factor in college admissions.
                     •  Having a large number of activities on a resume is not as important as excelling
                        in one or two areas.
                     •  A history of service within the community or work experience is a compelling
                        addition to your profile for college admission.
                     •  Students should research the admission requirements for their colleges of
                        interest prior to registering for their junior and senior year courses.
